Square Dish

First one of these for me. Not a lot of design/thought went into this one, I just chucked up some Ash and went at it. It's about 6" square and 2" thick. Can't measure it, LOML has already taken it off to a charity auction (more on this later). Only sanded to 220, then satin poly. I wanted to be able to feel the wood on this one.

I think this is what you call a Man-Bowl - rugged and angular! I like it! Great grain, color and finish! Hope it fetches high dollars for the auction! Let us know! Nice work Mike!

Great bowl. I just cut up a piece of spalted oak, and I think I'll try a sqare bowl out of the pile. Did you use a jam chuck for finishing off the foot?

Ben, I did pretty much what I always do, used the tail stock to hold it to a flat plate, turned down what I could with light cuts, then sanded off the nub. It's pretty easy to get a nice 'cove' foot this way.
