I received a North Bros 41 with 6 bits in the handle. How do I sharpen these? The tips? The flutes? I tried googling without much luck. Thanks.

Home sick today and don't want to run any power tools so this could be just the thing. Plus being down in the shop makes me feel a little better.

Just sharpen the tips like a regular twist drill bit. Don't touch the flutes.

You can mess around with the angle of the point to find an angle you like.

The really old ones are sharpened straight across so they would cut in both directions with an archamedian drill. Some hdwe stores still carry them or have some left over from years past you can take a look at them or just look for a new one in a store and take a good look at the drills that come with it.

Stanley is also making them again I believe.
