Experimental Slimline

Well, I was replacing some Purple Heart Slimlines that I had sold and decided to experiment on one. Not sure if I like it or not. I made my own centerband with Black Wood and for the first time used a burnishing wire.

I like it Jon, try one that does not have a cove at the band I'm thinking that might look cool too.

Looks good. It's all a personal prefrence. Somebody out there will really like that style. If I want to SELL a pen, I make the band myself. It looks better. Next thing I'm trying is making my own clips!

Nice pens.
Your purpleheart isn't looking very purple. The local wood store guy told me that before you apply a finish on purpleheart you should wait a day or two with the finished piece in the sunlight then finish them. Over that time period it will have become much more purple.
