Well I got that lower shelf rough cut and the whole works reassembled , lil more trimming on the shelf for wood movement space , final sanding , then bust out a few more clamps maybe for a Thursday night glue up.

That strap clamp will hold the whole thing together , thats all that on it now till I get back to it. I may see if the Borg has one like it so I can strap clamp the lower area the same way as that top one.

Had to trim the ends off the glued up shelf blank so this trick might or could work for some one to true up sheet goods or a similar glued up blank .

Very cool. In a pinch you can use a piece of rope (with suitable protection from scarring on the wood) for another band clamp with a stick wound through it and twisted to tighten.

Here's a couple of photos of the tenons,

I glued it up last night , it went pretty well , I had all the clamps out , adjusted , staged, etc. I've assembled it a few times and marked all the parts for in and out , left and right, etc. so it went fast on final glue and assembly.

Well I got that lower shelf rough cut and the whole works reassembled , lil more trimming on the shelf for wood movement space Nice piece, nice work! I would have notched the legs to allow for wood movement rather than have a gap. One thing that you can do is cut a very small rabbet, like 1/16"x1/16" in the notch edges to create a shadow line. As the panel contracts the shadow line will help disguise any gap that you have.

I just did one of those round taboret side tables with an apron.. I had clamps going in every direction possible. I used thickened epoxy for the apron tenons because I didn't cut them perfectly and needed gap filling properties. I don't know if I could have done it fast enough if I had just used PVA.

Thanks George.

I did consider that BUT decided I had enought issues with the legs, stretchers , rails & shelf already! So I decided to go as I did. As it's alower shelf once the top is on I think those gaps will be hard to see. We'll see IF the client agrees  :D

Looksgood, I'm sure the client will be thrilled.

Here it is stained and finished with the display stand it was built to hold on it. I built the display stand a couple of years ago.

Very nice Paul.

It looks like you need to clean your lens. I see spots.

Ya I do need to treat the camera better , I carry that thing in my nail bags at work , poor thing aways dusty , gettin jambed in holes to "veiw" things on remodels etc . It's been a great camera , I'll see what I can do about cleaning it.

Thanks for the kind words guys
