I just cut some big burl Saturday and hauled some of it home to KY from MO on Sunday. Just thought I would post a few pictures. I have coated what I brought home, but the two 36" Diameter pcs left in the barn are not coated yet with anchorseal8027180269. I think this is pin oak, but since there were no leaves this time of year, ???. Hope it doesn't crack before I can have a gallon of anchorseal sent to my brother.

Great find!! The bark and texture of the burl looks like oak to me. Get it coated quickly. Oak takes on a lot of movement when it starts drying.

I've never seen a baby elephant climb a little oak tree like that. Nice score. Have fun turning it.

Pin Oaks may have lost there leaves in your neck of the woods, but they are still on here. Great gloat, no matter what wood it is.

Pin Oak has lots of branches all over the place. It actually looks more like white oak from the pics.
