Delta 580... Bullet-proof.

Good Luck with your decision...

I'd go with the newer Ridgid R4330 over the TP1300. True, you don't get a stand or an extra set of knives. I'm not sure if three knives makes that much of a difference, but I've been very happy with my R4330.

The three knife set up on the DeWalt is awfully nice, but if that Ridgid has the Lifetime warranty they're starting to offer with most of their other power tools, that could be a deal maker, provided it's got the features you want.

I was about to buy a DW corded drill for pocket holes, but I noticed the Ridgid is, according to my eye, the exact same drill (same manufacturer maybe?), a couple bucks cheaper, and guaranteed for life, whereas the DW is for 3 years. No question, I went with the Ridgid.

Yes, the R4330 has the lifetime guarantee. "It says so right on the box." :D Just be sure to buy it new if the warrantee is important to you, as it's only applicable to the original owner.

I went with the Dewalt DW735. It got great reviews in FWW tool review. Very happy with it. And I got it about $200 cheaper than the store on ebay, even with shipping.

I have the two knife ridgid. Ive used for about 1 year. It works great, the blade change takes about 5 minutes, just to flip or replace. Its heavy to lift from under bench though. Its the one item I dread picking up (except 8/4 hardwood to the jointer)
If I had more room than my garage I would buy a 20 inch grizzly or at least a 15 inch.

I own the 734. It is awesome but very very loud as are all lunchboxes I guess. Have room for a floor model? If so you may be able to find one used. My Delta 20" DC580 is about 1/2 as loud as the 734.

I used a ridgid 1300 for a while and it was a workhorse. Makes very smooth cuts and the repeat of the stops is pretty good. Definitely limited to 1/16 of cut to get decent results.

I only put it on the block when I bought the 15" grizzly a few weeks ago or it would still be in use.

i bought that rigid. i had it for a week then returned it. it kept burning up everything from very soft pine to hard maple on 1/16" cuts. because of problems like that right out of the box i decided that i will only own a floor model. I am currently looking at the jet 16" open stand.

I guess I responded but did not answer the question. Best planer for the money? IMO it is the 20" G0454 Grizzly for $1300 and shipping. Best Lunch box - 735 Dewalt. I bought the 20" Delta for $2000 when amazon was slashing Delta tools last year. My HTC base for it was $300 though :(
