Has anyone replaced the casters on a Ridgid shop vac with a better model of caster?
My shop vac is a 16 gallon purchased around December 2000. The caster are like the cheap double wheel casters used on Walmart office chairs. They snap easily if the shop vac is jostled. I bought two new ones once from Ridgid for $5 each plus a fairly steep shipping/handling charge. I'm hoping someone has replaced them with something I can buy locally that are more durable.
I noticed that a new Ridgid shop vac I just bought has what appear to be better casters with less plastic.
Also, anyone know where I can find the model number on a Ridgid shop vac if I have to order casters from them? I've looked all over and can't find it. (Maybe the sticker fell off since I last ordered casters.)
