Pen for Dad

My dad is a big fan of big, thick pens, and he always would swear by this plastic "Dr. Grip" pen. Every time he'd whip it out to write something down, I'd think what he should be whipping out is a wooden cigar pen.

So here's what I came up with for his birthday. It's purpleheart w/ BLO/CA finish and I sent it away to be engraved. I must say that I'm very happy with the engraving, I belive it was Kallenshaan woods.

No, I did not make the case.:eek: Every time I attempt to push the shavings off the router and install a roundover bit, I can never find a way to clamp down the stock that's that small. I've tried that router mat stuff, but the work ends up flying accross the room and/or into my forehead anyway. Ouch. Anybody have a solution?

Ben, I know you don't have much room but a small bench top router table would be the best way to take care of this. Might not be worth it though if you don't do much routing. That's the way I do all of my small stuff.
