Does anyone have a figured wood mail order/web retailer that they've used with great satisfaction?
thanks

buying over the web / mail order will chime in but I've heard good things about Mike Mastin at Curly Woods http://www.curlywoods.com.

He's also a Ponder & I think a sawyer/miller/creeker too.

Hope this helps.

Mike Mastin has some nice stuff, but in my humble opinion, the best on the web is Lewis Judy at the address below.

It's not inexpensive, but man that is the finest wood I have seen.

Wow, the curly maple is something to dream about, as is the Claro walnut !

Randy,

As a very satisfied customer, I'd give my vote to Pat Taran at curlymaple.com. You see fairly accurate pics of the individual boards, he has board sets for larger panel glue-ups and was a real pleasure to work with. No affiliations, just a satisfied customer.

Hey Randy,

Here's links to the two sites that I see recommended most on the boards for figured maple. YMMV

<b><font color = blue><a href="http://www.figuredhardwoods.com/">Sandy Pond Hardwoods</a>
<br><a href="http://www.curlymaple.com/">Maple Leaf Hardwoods</a></b></font>

As has been said, not cheap, but stunning if well used.
