Hi all,
just got some samples from a couple different vendors, and I wanted to get some opinons.
In the pic the sample on the right seems to have much more clean lines that the on on the left. They are different woods but the grain and hardness seem to be the same. Im not sure if it makes a difference on the edges, but the sample on the right does has more varnish on it. Also the sample on the left seems to have a darker burn.
As far as quality I think that the right sample is a superior engrave, but am not sure if the wood difference is what made it cleaner.
If you get a chance zoomin on the pic and tell me what ya think.

Thanks for any input,
Mike

Mike,

It's hard to tell from the samples, they both look nice. This weekend I engraved a logo six times on the same board using six different speed/power/DPI rates as a comparison sample for a customer. There was a big difference in the engravings in quality, depth and color contrast. I wish now I had taken a picture of the sample.
