Jet 1014 mini is $250
Delta la200 is $150

I found some info about these two models compared before, but this weekend Woodcraft is selling the Delta for $150 to the first 50 customers at their grand opening in Houston. After turning some pens on a Jet I love it and I have the bug. The question being is the Jet worth $100 more? Basically, I can have the lathe and all the supplies for the cost of the Jet. Seeing as the sale is tomorrow I am trying to decide. Thanks for the help.

Do you know what other special deals they might be having? I was planning on going over there tomorrow but I didn't know they were doing any limited quantity deals like that.

You also might look at the Rikon 70-100. I've had mine for about a year. I'm extremely pleased with it.

There are limited quantities on a few items, but the lathe is the only number stated (50).

I didn't see any other great deals, but they have some pen kits on sale about 30%

A few Groz planes $19

On the back page of the flyer (which is at home)

Porter Cable PC690 router $99
Delta Dust Collection $269 (forgot the model)

Those are the only two that seemed like good deals. Sorry, that is all I can remember.

I will try to post any other deals when I get home from work.

If the Jet is the Electronic variable speed version I would buy that for $100 more. If not I would buy the Delta without a moments hesitation. It is nice little lathe and you will like it alot.

No the Jet is not the EVS model. You have to change the belt for the VS

It's been a while, but both the Jet and Delta midi lathes were a bit prone to vibration. Does the Jet min have the variable speed option? That's pretty handy when you are switching back and forth between high and low speeds, as for thread chasing.
