Amazon sales on Clamps

Hey all. i seem to recall that Amazon starts running their sales on Bessey clamps early in the year, anyone seen any yet? Or was it in feb? I have about $400 to spend on clamps and was debating on just getting the woodcraft version at 10% off...

Before you buy the Woodcraft version of the Bessey clamps be sure to make a side by side comparison in person at a Woodcraft store. They are both made by Bessey but they are not identical. The Bessey branded clamps are the better ones. Especially check out the rail. If it's only 10% difference I'd go with the original Bessey's.

While the Woodcraft clamps are made by Bessey, they are definately not the same quality. Even our local Woodcraft store manager discouraged me from buying the Woodcraft clamps when they were on sale about a year ago and suggested I only stay with Bessey or Jets.

By the way, I've moved to Jets and now wish all my Besseys were Jets.

Jets have an advantage, bigger (deeper jaw) and quick release trigger. Basically Bessey updated. Lately everyone puts the Jets ahead of Bessey if buying brand new. GL

Given the dollar lost over 12% to the Euro in 2007 I suspect the deals for German made clamps might not be as good as in years past.
