My latest project, the wife’s Boos block had a metal frame bottom that has fell apart over the past years. It was apparently cast al. I am rebuilding a sturdier frame to remount it on to. I used a biscuit along with a pocket screw on each side and covered with lots of glue.


The wood I had was ash and it apparently had been invaded by worms so I’ve been scraping worm dirt.

Just covered with a couple layers of clear poly hope to have more photo's soon. It is looking better than I first thought it would turn out.

The top I've sanded and covered with about six coats of butcher block oil finish and it does look nice.

There is certainly a lot of character there!! (Hopefully created by long-gone "characters", as it were... ;) ) That will be a very nice base for the block.

Thanks it will also add about three times the mass so should help the stability. I left the casters off also so that should also help some more.

The legs are the ash the cross pieces are sugar maple.

I'm sure this is one of a kind.
