Which manufacturer and or type of glue leaves the least noticeable glue line, assuming of course a good and clean mating surface? I've been using TB 3 lately but it leaves a darker line than TB 1 or 2 and I thought before I went back to 2 I'd see if there are reasonable alternatives. I need to glue up 12 quilted maple panels so a clear glue would be best. Thanks in advance for any input.....

I like Titebond II extend. It is a white PVA and dries clear.

TBI is lighter that TBII when dry. As you found out TBIII is darker. I prefer TBII as TBI is almost too white where TBII usually blends in if there is a small gap to fill.
I tried the extend but did not find the open time to be much different than TBII although the color is a lot lighter when dry and is almost without color whereas the TBI is a definite white.

Regardless of what type of glue you are using, the higher the pressure the smaller and less noticeable the glue line. So use lots of clamps.
