Got a friend that went to get some Dark Grey machine paint to match up to the dark grey on an old Boice Crane jointer. The paint is more Delta light grey and I was wondering where one would source the darker machine paint that would be more true to the dark grey of the 1930's era machines.

How many times have we heard that line, "I have a friend..." You can tell us its really you; we're friends here. Some of the better paint store have scanners that will scan some of your old paint and the computer spits out a color match formula. A second choice is an automotive paint store. Post a picture when its all finished.

Any place that sells automotive paint will have the color match.

I was leaning away from automotive paint as I don't feel that would be an industrial coating type that would have been the type used in that era.
