I just got in an order from Grizzly and I picked up a Leecraft zero clearance insert (JT-164). I already have several I made myself from baltic birch, but they need replacement and I am being lazy and just bought one.

It's listed to fit the Jet JTAS-10 (which is what I have). To my amazement, the insert fell right inside the saw. The insert is 12 1/2" x 3 9/16". The opening in my saw is 13 5/16" x 3 11/16".

Anyone else run into this? I know, probably not because you all make your own inserts just like I used to. :o

Guess I'll be calling Grizzly tomorrow to return these (and then make my own like I should have in the first place).

Be well,

Doc

I have the Jet ProShop (JPS-10) and noticed the same thing. I bought some Phenolic from McFeely's to make an insert but just kept the wooden ones for now. McFeely had the only blank long enough that I could find.

Doc, do you have a JTAS-10 or a JTAS-10XL? The JTAS-10XL Xacta saw takes the Leecraft JT-2L insert, which is also listed as fitting the Grizzly G1023SL.

I have the JTAS-10XL. Guess I didn't realize that the JTAS-10 was a COMPLETELY different saw.

Called Grizzly, the JT-164's are going back in exchange for their H4231 (which are designed for their G1023SL / SLX and are the same exact size as the opening on my saw).

Thanks for the info on the comparable Grizzly.

Be well,

Doc
