Here are some 10" salad bowls with a semi gloss hurry up finish as the tourist was standing waiting. The bowls were rough turned to 3/4 TO 1" thickness then boiled for a few hours and then air dried a couple of months and finally kiln dried prior to final turning.

From left to right Black Tahauri, Dalmation , Orange Agate , Orange Agate and on the bottom Pink Flame.

Jim, those are really nice. The tourist is a fortunate person to have them.

Jim,

Those look really good. i especially like the dalmation wood. I have done a search for dalmation wood in the U.S. and really haven't found anything. Is it called something else here? It would be nice to find some.

Great job, as usual. Would love to have wood like that to turn on a regular basis. Finish looks good, even if it was a hurry up job.

I just looked up orange agate wood, and came upon "Exotic Wood World." Is that where you got your blanks?

You might say that Grey. Jim gets them out of his backyard. Or maybe down the trail a bit. He was smart enough to bring himself to the trees instead of paying someone else to bring the trees to him. Check the contact person at Exotic Wood World.
If you search past posts by Jim you'll see some amazing wood.

As usual Jim, beautiful stuff.
