Here is try #2 on the simple bowls. This one didn't crack on me-at least yet. The finish is an art in and of itself, huh...

Thanks for looking.

That finish (and bowl) is beautiful... what did you use?

Sanded to 1500 and applied EEE Ultra Shine. I was shocked at how it turned out. I usually add Woodturners finish to finish them off but with the shine I got I had to stop before I messed it up.:D

That looks nice, right down to the finish.

Very nice, Tim.

But this isn't a "simple bowl". It's actually relatively hard to turn because of the flat bottom and abrupt change in direction as you go down the sides and transition to the bottom. So you get double kudos!

Really nice! You'll begin to love the EEE, it's like sanding an extra couple grits! You just have to really get the bulk of it off before applying a finish!

Oh, yeah! The bowl looks really nice, the figure of coco is always a surprise/treat. Good work!

Thanks to all for the kind words. Each of you know how to motivate one to keep 'em spinning! I cannot wait to chuck up another piece of wood. I have some more spalted pecan awaiting its turn on the lathe and it is my intention to oblige it. :D

The bowl is approximately 4" wide by 3" tall. I forgot to put a measure to it so I don't know the exact measurements. The pictures are taken with the bowl sitting on the headstock of my Jet 1014vs. That might put it into perspective.

Nice bowl and finish! Love Coco, just wish I could afford a large blank.
