Is there such a thing as a true ¼’’ barrel hinge as far as using a ¼’’ diameter drill bit? The reason I ask is I was thinking that if you could get one that size and if you own a Dowelmax jig it would be easy to used to set the hinges in a small box. All you would have to do is hook the jig on the one side of the box and then on the lid and drill the holes, quick easy and dead on. What are your thoughts?( I do know you can get the Dowelmax in the 6mm size’s and the 8’s for the barrel hinges so I think it would work for any one that had a metric system)

Rockler and others sell cylinder hinges that are smaller.

They say 5 mm which is about 3/16. The last time I was in a store, I thought they had two sizes of these, but their website doesn't list a size for both part numbers.
