I've gotten interested in getting one of those Beall wooden threading kits to make threaded rods and nuts. No idea why...just seems like it would be fun to make clamps, toys, book presses, small vises....who knows. Has anyone out there integrated these home-made threaded wooden dowels into their projects? Anyone willing to post a picture or two for inspiration?

definitely get the beall book, http://www.bealltool.com/images/product_shots/book.jpghttp://www.bealltool.com/products/threading/book.php

I made a nut cracker for xmas this year, and some other bolts to give away when I worked at an auto assembly plant. I'm planning on making a long threaded rod that will drive a dump mechanism in a toy dump truck.

Thanks Andrew. I was considering buying the book and probably will do so now. I was interested, however, in whether any of our colleagues had some threaded projects to show off. Anyone made a plow plane with a threaded adjuster? Any toys out there using threaded parts? Anyone ever made a wooden book press with a large threaded rod?
