Just a follow-up pic on the sled post earlier today.
The sled is 42"x 17"x 5 3/4". It is made with walnut and ambrosia maple. All stock is 3/4". It's a fun project with great rewards. Here's my proof!

Too cute! How old is your daughter...mine just turned 2 a couple days ago! Unless we move back to where I'm from (Colorado), she won't be sledding anytime soon! :D

Her name is Carmen and she will be three next month. She is a blessing.

What a sweetheart. She MUST take after her mother. Great sled, too.

As the father of three grown (almost) daughters let me say ENJOY them, pretty soon they're gone.

BTW she makes the sled look good!

That sled looks great. I really like the look of wormy maple and the walnut together. It looks like the only thing to resist racking forces if the bar across the front. How did it hold up?

BTW, great looking kid. :)

Chris, you've got yourself a little doll, there! Like Jim S. said, enjoy now...They grow up way, way too fast! She looks quite happy on that beautiful sled, BTW!

Fantastic smile. Must have been the run down the hill with her dad. Enjoy your time together - that's what having kids is all about.

There are some cleats under the deck and if you look closely you will see that the two end cleats are set in notches. This helps prevent any racking. You can see this better by the previous post which shows some unfinished shop shots. Thanks for looking.
