Good Friday morning all,

Man, this week has flown by. Day job has really kept me busy with no letup in sight. We are moving our little company from home based offices and shop to a leased building this weekend. That means little shop time for me this weekend, at least time in my shop! That also means come Monday morning, I actually have to get up early and drive to work. After two years of working out of my home, that's going to be a big adjustment.

If I do squeeze in a little shop time, work will continue on the blanket chest I am making for LOML. Any sawdust in your weekend plans?

Have a great weekend everyone,
Bob

Looks like I will be going up to Woodcraft to get everything I need to start making 7mm slim line pens.

Since the weather is suppose to be nice (mid 60's) I will also be out getting the new trailer ready for our first camping trip next month. But I have to wait for the 4" of snow to melt first. :D :D

I'm going to start to put my Clarke E. / Bill P. dust cyclone kit together. A littlte more assembly than I was expecting but," IF YOU OTHER GUYS CAN DO IT SO CAN I !!!" . ok got the mind set. I think I'll read the instructions for once in my life though. Wish me luck.

Well, I'm getting my last two wisdom teeth out this afternoon. Could make for an interesting weekend. :(

I also plan to be at an auction tomorrow morning, assuming the extraction goes well.

Well I got in the shop last night and made some sawdust and firewood. I also got some more of the window trim done for the living room. This weekend I am going to seal the seams in the sheeting from the inside of our house to prepare for insulation next week. If I do get back in the shop, it'll be to work on the trim some more. Before I know it the drywall will be in and I will need to have it ready. The trim is sort of Georgian or Federal style, so there are a lot of pieces. My new hitachi MV12 is working great in my table.

Have a great weekend.

Gee Bob...that sounds like fun ;) I hate moving.

I decided that the lower portion of the router/planer station just wasn't going to suit me so I ripped it out and started again. I got the face frame done Tuesday nite. The new configuration will be a door on the left for access to the router one BIG drawer in the center with 2 smaller drawers under it and 3 drawers on the right. Hopefully I can get it done by the end of the weekend along with getting started on the coffee table finish. I did get all the hardware on the table Monday nite so I'm just a bit of final sanding away from staining it.

Everyone have a safe one,

Terry

Here is the new router/planer station configuration.

Glue up, profile edges, stain/sand, finish some "floating" shelves for my daughter's room. Maybe take my Trend MT Jig for a test spin. Buddy coming over Sunday morning to get some help sanding down and prepping for fresh finish on an old solid-body bass guitar. May try to get some pen blanks ready for more FPP pieces. Have a great and safe weekend, all!

Houston we have a go! I have water that goes in and out of the new kitchen. No runs no drips a few errors.:D New dishwasher runs great. Won't have to wash dishes in the head anymore. 3.5 years of dirty plates, tupper, & flat ware piles up. Thank goodness for spare bedrooms.
Shop time tomorrow. Going to install the new Mag switch (from CA Chris P.) on my TS. Made some mods Chris. pics to follow.
Also going to install new riser block and Carter guides on the Jet 14" BS.:D
Have a date with a charming lady tomorrow. And my baby is home for spring break. What more could a guy ask for.;)

Play safe!

Sounds like fun, Mark. I have all my stuff in the corner of the garage ready to be taken out of the box! Frankly, I am not sure when I'll get to it but it appears you'll beat me to the punch. I have a big EC I am working on and I'd like to get it to a stage where we can have the new carpet installed in the room.

Finish up the finish on the bed frame and hopefully get it moved into the guest bedroom.

Taking a look at some more lots.

Hopefully going to get some rough sawn oak milled up so I can store it.

That's about it, not much going on this weekend... Oh yeah, need to finish up some work stuff by Monday, yuck.

It's shaping up to be a good one. Finally got a Leigh D4 dovetail jig yesterday at Woodcraft's 10% off sale, after eyeballing it for months. So I'll be finishing up some drawers for a minor variation on Nahm's workshop hutch.

Based on some really helpful feedback from Creek denizens, I'll most likely be modifying my Delta dust collector a bit, and hopefully routing some piping for it. The hutch is a big part of consolidating storage in the workshop so I can hopefully more permanently locate some of my machines -- there's a good and bad side to mobile bases for the indecisive! :)

Also got some more electrical to do. I'm wiring a 5 foot plugmold strip into the front of the workshop hutch for tool use, and a 3 foot strip under the upper shelf section for my growing collection of battery chargers. I'd also like to position a new 220 outlet and some 110 wall outlets, but as I read the list I realize there's a heck of a lot more here than I'm likely to get to. Good problem to have, I suppose...

2 months after back surgery, I finally get to spend a little time in the shop! Yipppeeee!!

Junior has a pine car derby race at church on Sunday. He, his buddy and I are headed down into the "Man Room" to sand & paint the bodies, then work on the wheels and axles while the paint dries. Should be lots of fun. I'll try to remember to post pictures next week.

I'm going to work on a few projects.

A box-joint jewelry box for my niece.

A book-case for my father -in- law.

Another end table for the living room.

not sure how far I'll get, but it looks like I should get some good shop time in. I'll post my progression in Dennis' weekly post on Monday.

Have a happy and healthy weekend all.

Hopefully this weekend will find me staining the torsion box shevles for our book room and working on a new table for my homebuilt bandsaw. My last try warped pretty badly so this time I laminated two 3/4" pieces of baltic birch ply and will formica on the top.

Have safe weekend guys and gals. :)

Cheers,
Greg

Will be a very busy weekend for this dude. Began to hang the first bit of ductwork for my Oneida collection system today after work. Will be up bright and early in the morning to get a good early start so that I can use as much of the day as possible to get as much installed. Hope to get enough done tomorrow (Sat) to satisfy myself so that I can use Sunday to possibly start fabbing up the Terry Hatfield style blast gates. The LOML has promised to lend a helping hand when more than two are necessary. Gotta love her.

Hope to finish the bed rails for my son and daughter-in-law's conversion baby crib. The blanks have been haning around my shop too long. I'm tired of moving them around.

Well, I'm getting my last two wisdom teeth out this afternoon.

Good luck with that, Christopher! And keep up the good work holding down the fort in my "home town for four years" from long ago! (Flew over the other day and I can't believe how much State College as grown since the mid- to late 1970s...)

------

As to my weekend, Saturday (outside of watching Norm's Windsor Chair project on PBS) will be spent in the shop finishing the preparations for the turning instruction I'm giving next Sunday as part of the Bucks Woodturners "Hands On Weekends" project as well as additional work on the walnut table I'm making for the flat-screen. The panels were glued up last Sunday and I need to surface and cross cut them as well as deal with the mortises and tenons required for assembly. These will be angled tenons so there will be a bit more Neander work necessary than I would normally be doing. Saturday night is DVD night with LOML and it looks like it will be Waking Ned Devine this time around.

Sunday, we are going to the Home Show in Ft Washington PA to poke around and see what's new as well as investigate what the damage is going to be to replace the bay window off the kitchen eating area this spring. (Ching...Ching...) Once, home, it will be a little shop time and then bill paying and tax preparation.

Mow the lawn with my newly acquired aluminum deck Toro lawn mower, and build a bookcase for my daughter that looks like a dollhouse.

Terry, do you ever sleep?!?! You are a woodworking maniac. :D

I think your project output has to be one of the highest in the group. Looking good.

Planning on going to the mill tomorrow to find a thick piece of maple for the base of the end table I am working on. The idea is based loosely on the table that Scott Coffelt posted at the end of January. The base is going to be oval shaped so I have been waiting for my bandsaw to arrive to cut it. It came today and is up and running!!! I'll try to give it a little bit of a workout tomorrow as I learn how to use it.

Sunday I'm driving the LOML to Lansing to Delphi glass store to pick up some supplies for her hobby, stained glass.

And the weather is supposed to get into the 50's. Spring is getting close.

Thanks Jim, I was in quite a bit a pain last night, but I'm not doing too bad today.

I did make it to an auction this morning, an estate sale which included a good bit of Grizzly equipment. Unfortunately, much of this equipment went for what the pieces were new. People get too crazy at auctions. I did pick up a Dewalt DW705 compound miter saw for $180.

State College has changed so much over the last 3 or 4 years. I lived here from 92-00, then moved to the San Francisco Bay for 3 years and came back here in September. I can't believe the changes in the 3 years I was gone.

thanks,
chris
