A couple of weeks ago a question was posted about spalting maple to which I replied see (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=71253&highlight=spalt). These bowls are to wood I was referring to. Both bowls come from the same blank. The top of the plank had several piths and a bark inclusion and I wasn't sure how it would come out, so I roughed it out and then parted it to make 2 bowls. The first picture shows the orientation of the original blank. Fortunately I was able to save the pithy blank with CA. Larger bowl is 7.5" x 2" and the smaller is 6.5"x2.25". Both were sanded to 800 and finished with home brew oil, then buffed. Thanks for looking.
