Here is the collection of eggs I'm working on. So far I only have 7 but I figure the more I make the faster I'll become. I like to fill a bigger bowl for Easter.
The bowl is 6" x 2" someone at work asked me to make him one. First time selling a bowl so I'm pretty happy with that. Hopefully I'll sell a few more later.
Thanks for looking

I always like ambrosia! Great bowl, and the form and the finish on the eggs are great. It really takes some skill to get them to all look similar!

Nice work Alex! Eggs look great - love the various colors! Bowl has a nice classic form to it, good looking finish and a unique foot area.

Congrats on your sale! Hopefully this bowl will generate many more!

Nice work, your friend will be very happy! Just a quick questions, turning eggs are a new one to me, not to sound stupid, are they solid or hollow?

Beautiful work... can I have an omelet with the walnut and the oak? Those are the only two I can identify... maybe one ash.
I like the bottom feature, also... is this so it can be remounted to do some finish repairs if should become necessary?
Well done!

Thanks for the comments. The foot is something I'm experimenting with. Nex I'll try hollowing the whole thing and get ride of the center. I left the center there for decor, but I don't know if it adds to the looks or not. I welcome opinions there.

You are welcome to make your self an omelet. The woods are:
Oak and walnut as you mentioned. Then Lyptus, magnolia, cherry, choke something (not that you dirty mind) and spoted ebony

It was not the intention but certainly I can work as such. This is the 3 bowl I turn so I have no experience with foots on bowls. So far I like the footless look of them and I found this to be a simple way to turn them without having to return the foot later.

I like the bottom feature, also... is this so it can be remounted to do some finish repairs if should become necessary?

Your wish is my command. I just finished turning an egg just to take pictures for you. I'll post them later today.

Wow.. those eggs are fantastic... How can I learn to do something like that?

Anybody know of a video? Once I see it, I think I could duplicate it.
