I assume hardboard contains glues and such similar to MDF - is this correct? Which is easier on a table saw blade - hardboard for MDF? I hate running MDF through my WWII.

Just wondering.

Both are about the same in abrasiveness. But, that's what carbide tipped blades were designed for. Look at it this way--Cutting certain hardwoods is more wearing on the blade than cutting pine.

There are a few products that are known as Hard Board. Not sure exactly which one you're referring to. MDF comes in different thicknesses and densities.
Regardless. I would need a very compelling reason to have to use a WWII to cut either product. The glue on the MDF, vs the glue and the chipping in the hardboard. I think I'd just buy a 'borg special blade for these cuts.

Howard.
I was approaching it from the glue in the materials. I hate MDF.
