Ran across these two videos, and thought that some of you might enjoy watching them.

Thank you. Very timely as I am in the process of building a krenov style plane (waiting for the iron to arrive so that I can finish assembly.)

That's David Finck Who authored Making and Mastering Wood Hand Planes and has an article in the Feb 08 FWW. The other is Krenov who is responsible for the design modern wooden planes built by hobbyists.

For those who have not read Finck's book, it's excellent. He steps you through the plan making process using Krenov's methods, and then proceeds to talk about sharpening, using, etc. I have a lot of woodworking books and it's one I really enjoy. It's more then just a "how to make a plane" book.

If you are making your own planes, then you might find these web-pages handy.

This first page is by Derek Cohen who posts right here at SMC.
I like the fact that Derek points out the different curves on the plane body.

This link is on page 2 of 4 from Derek's web-page.

"A construction plan is available from The College of the Redwoods website, written by David Welter." David Welter (http://www.crfinefurniture.com/1pages/sitelinks/howplane.html)

I hope your plane making is a success! Enjoy.
