Today I bought the Sears 6" benchtop jointer. It's the only one I could find in stock anywhere and I was impressed by the robust look of the thing. I saw the Delta 6 incher at Lowes and was happy with that. If there had been any in stock it would be in my garage right now. But I spent about $30 more and got what I think will be more than adequate for my needs.
* BUT * On the first test board I ran through it, I noticed (what I thought was snipe), a small raised track along the entire length. I'm going to call Sears and complain about this.
I'd like to ask how common this is and if yes, how much do you tolerate before replacing or sharpening blades ?
Thanks.
