Finished my first batch of bowls and thought I'd post 'em. Thanks for looking.
This is bowl #1, a practice bowl with friend. I didn't sand it while it was on the lathe and had to hand sand it, apply a coat of Watco and hand wax it. Cherry.

Bowl #2, the first one on my own. This is box elder, with one coat of Watco and buffed with the Beall system.

After my first success, I had a little mishap on #3. Notice where the tool caught on the inside lip. It exploded and flew across the garage. It used to be chestnut.

Bowl #4 is another box elder, turned a little thinner than the other. It's got a little knot hole in it, but has a little curl in it too.

I used walnut for #5. I love the way walnut turns.

Bowl #6 was a surprise for me. I bought all of the blanks (except #1) rough turned and seasoned from Woodcraft and couldn't tell what figure was in them. This last one is silver maple and has a ton of figure in it.
