My shop is about 20 by 26 with a 9 foot ceiling. I have a lathe table saw planer router tables chop saw ect. I am looking at this for local collection and plan to add a ceiling mounted air cleaner later.
Comments considerations?
I would like to stay in the $300 price range.
I can pick this up locally for around $270

I bought the G1029Z and it works great. More power and comes with a 2.5 micron bag. Mine also came with a free 2 stage separator G3376. At a price of $333.95 shipped, you really can't beat it.

This is one of our top sellers and for good reason. We have been selling this unit for years and it has proven itself in thousands of shops around the country. We have now added a 2.5 micron top bag as standard equipment to capture the fine dust particles that normally end up all over your shop. We buy these units in huge quantities with no middleman and pass the savings on to you.Other features include: 12" balanced steel impeller with radial fin; 5.4 cubic foot bag capacity; portable base dimensions of 21-1/4" x 33-1/2"; 19" x 33" (diameter x depth) bag size (x2); powder coated paint; 78" height with bags inflated; approximate shipping weight of 123 lbs.

When I was researching for a DCS (which I ultimately never bought), A harbor freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=45378) 2hp system was a good buy, and you can upgrade that with t (http://www.wynnenv.com/35A_series_cartridge_kit.htm)his canister filter (http://www.wynnenv.com/35A_series_cartridge_kit.htm) to make it a pretty good solution to fine dust. If you keep a lookout, you can get discount coupons for HF that will make it even less expensive. It's even on sale at the moment... and their sales and coupons DO stack IIRC.

Ian

Edit... looks like HF is carrying the canister upgrade now too.

The bags fill quickly with chips but really aren't hard to empty if you have a dump spot.

As long as you keep relatively close to the machines they do pretty well but plan on getting a .5 micron bag or it is worse than using a broom as lots of the small particles get propelled back out.

It is similar to a Jet that my Dad has and his does pretty well as far as I can tell, even on a Delta 18/36.

Personally I would look for a used one; they seem to be readily available. I tried to sell a 2hp with a canister for $225 for several months; now my lathe has a dedicated unit for sanding.
