Question for G0490/W1744 owners w/ link belts

How much tension do you have on your belts? I got the plugs on mine this am and powered it up. I am assuming that the "whrrrr" noise is normal with a link belt. I did have to modify the bend angle of the belt guard to give more clearance as I was rubbing at the start.

Right now I get some belt slap on the guard on start up but mostly on shutdown. So my first guess is tension but I havent used link belts before so I am kinda lost on the tensioning.

any suggestions?

No link belts here but a high freq whine is normal from what I recall when researching them.

Not sure about tension but I would think similar to v-belts or cog belts since they essentially do the same thing.

Also they do stretch some at first so make sure they are as tight as when you started.
