Since reading of the vacuum chuck I have pondered the possibility of drilling the arbor on my craftsman lathe. I thought a drill chuck on a morse taper on my tailstock and a very long drill. Has anyone any thoughts or experience on such a problem. I have attached a picture of an arbutus (madrona) piece. It was finished with 1600 grit and mineral oil. A condiment bowl. 3" high.
