Here is a walnut bowl I just finished. It is about 10.5 inches by 2 inches. It is finished with Cabots High Gloss wiping poly. I'm not sure I like the high gloss finish and I'm thinking of going more of a matte finish. It was a fun project and I like the grain patterns.

I love it. You don't see to many shallow yet large bowls. And you got to love the walnut!

The figure in that walnut is amazing, and you can always find a use for some type of shallow bowl/deep dish. I agree with you though. I don't particularly like the gloss finish here. Great job!

Great looking bowl Greg. I think you could take some steel wool or synthetic wool and tone it down a bit. Well done.

Just beautiful. Its always great to see walnut in a bowl. It has such warmth. Great job.

Good idea about using the steel wool. I'll have to give it a try .

I would use some 0000 steel wool and then some paste wax. Have fun Greg.
