Last Christmas I built my daughter a small dresser for her American Girl Doll. My son did not let me live it down...:o This year I built him a Shaker stool with hand cut dovetails... This is my first time doing a project with hand cut DTs...the pictures are forgiving but I am very happy overall with the stool...

Very nice, Tom!!! I really love those Shaker-style step stools and hope to build one at some point for our kitchen.
Although I don't cut dovetails by hand very often and used to be afraid to do so, learning the old "slivers of wood driven into the gaps across the joint" trick made me become quite comfortable with it when it's the right way to go!

Great job on the stool.
And also on the handcut dovetails, they look fine to me....

Real nice looking steps.
I made a set for my son as well so he could reach the sink to brush his teeth. They come in real handy.
After seeing your nice dovetails I would be pretty embarrassed to show pictures of mine :o.
