The plan for this piece came from Wood Magazine earlier this year. The material is quarter sawn white oak, stained with pecan General Finishes oil based stain and sealed with several coats of Minwax satin spray varathane.

I started this display stand aka bookcase in March 2007. We went to our cabin for the summer before I was able to complete it. When we got back in October way too many projects for clients got in the way. It was installed a few days ago. My wife is now happy again! :)

Very nicely done David. I am a bit surprised that "she" was not the first to post to congratulate you if you "promised" back in March. ;)

Well done...

Wow,
That looks great. I like the open back it looks nice on the painted wall. The quartersawn oak really looks sharp. What's next?

Thats a great looking piece!
Just tell her the extra love you put in it took more time but was worth for her.
Might buy you a little extra time on the next project also.

I'm sure she thinks it was worth the wait. Looks really good. My son has been wanting a bookcase. I'll show him this one.
