Just been turning about a month, mostly pens. Here are a couple of recent efforts. Candlesticks in Mesquite, Weed pot in Maple. Looks like I managed to get the one bad spot on the shorter candlestick pointed RIGHT at the camera. I'm too lazy to reshoot. I struggled a bit with these due to the hole, ie- drill it first or last? I drilled first, with the candlesticks my live center "shoulder" then fit into the hole. Worked OK. On the pot, I turned an adapter that I wedged into the predrilled hole so I could turn it between centers. Comments are welcome.

I do like the form on the candlesticks and the weedpot, and I also like the wood for the weedpot. I drill my holes first as well, I just find it easier. The finish looks great! What do you use?

Happy New Year

They are all very nice. I made some candle holders years ago that had much the same shape as your tall one. I had to drill out the bottom and add lliquid lead to keep them from tipping over. :)
