Folks,

I'm looking for instructional video/DVD recommendations on all woodworking topics. If anyone has any favorites they like, or stinkers they didn't like, I'd love to hear about them.

Happy New Year,

Wow, that's a very broad request. Can you narrow it down to the types of things that you'd like to learn to do?

Wow, that's a very broad request. Can you narrow it down to the types of things that you'd like to learn to do?

Primarily furniture making/cabinet making, machines and techniques, and hand tool techniques. I'm not all that interested in specific project videos and I don't (yet?) turn wood or do marquetry.

But, really, I like to know what others find helpful and I like to glean ideas from a variety of sources.

Thanks,

kmb

Check out smartflix.com. They rent DVDs for $10/week and have a lot on woodworking.

If you're into hand tools, Rob Cosman's DVDs are excellent.

You might want to check out the Marc Adams DVD set. http://www.marcadams.com/videoseries.html

It covers most aspects of woodworking and will give you an idea of where you want to go from there.

You can learn a lot from both of these. There are many hours here of "free" instruction.;):D

You should consider new episodes and reruns of New Yankee Workshop. I find that even if I'm not interested in the project, there is always a new idea or method to do something that can be applied in other project.
