View Full Version : So, how do you undo a laptop engraving?

I grabbed an old laptop and decided to zap it. Just grabbed a few images from Corel and the Vector Image gallery 1 and lazed away.

I engraved the name at the bottom pretty deep so decided to reduce the juice and did the other images.

Unlike the Macincraps (jk), the Compaq has a large raised area for their logo which I had to work around.

I would have liked to incorporate the logo in one of the drawings, but my artist son decided he doesn't want much to do with the laser (teenagers for you). Would have been cool to have a fire breathing dragon blowing fire around the logo in the middle.

To undo it, just press the undo button on the laser panel. :p

Hmm, I can't find it either.. :)

I did the same thing with a laptop I broke the screen on. Figured I had nothing to lose, since the screen was broken anyway.

I'd think a good coat or two of a polyurethane paint would probably seal up the old images and make it smooth again. Careful with it, as most of them require a bonding primer from what I can tell.
