Why do I so often see woodworkers use the term "bisquit", when I think they mean "biscuit" ?

Is there a manufacturer which refers to its joining product as a "Bisquit Joiner" ?

Is "bisquit" a brand name of baked goods, that has overtaken the traditional spelling?

Curious.

I think it's just a spelling error like:

course for coarse (I used course sandpaper on it)

vice for vise (I put it in the vice to hold it)

advise for advice (Please give me some advise)

etc.

Seriously, I was just curious.

How do Americans pronounce the word "biscuit"? In Australia it is somewhere between "biskit" and "bisk't".

Ron,

I've always pronounced it "biskit", I hadn't heard of any other way of pronouncing it.

Bisquick makes pretty good pancakes

Happy New Year!!

I purchased this exact Dewalt model from the Lowes just yesterday. Imagine my disappointment this morning to learn it doesn't make biscuits. What a waste of $149. Thanks for wrecking 2008 for me Bob. :(

I've always assumed the common misspelling comes from Bisquick. Our dog is named Biscuit and both the vet and the next door neighbor dog who brought him a Christmas present both spelled it with the q.
