I am in search of a good compass rose. Just spent the last hour working on one, only to find out my lines are not all lining up. Attached is an example of what I am looking for (and also the result of my afternoon's work :().

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi Todd,
Try this one. It's symmetrical and outlined with a red hairline if you want to cut it out.

Thanks to Kim, Joseph and George. George, we are still back on the dark ages at version 12, (version 13 is on the plans for early 2008), but the others looked perfect.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Joe,

School teacher investigating a laser to add to my pre-engineering program for next year...quick question about the redline around the object - to cut out, why the redline?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott - Typically a laser reads line weight and color to tell it what action to perform. Usually a red hairline is used to indicate to the laser what to cut out vs items in black that are to be engraved.

Scott, the red line is what most users use to distinguish it as a hairline. When the laser driver sees a hairline, it vector cuts (if told to do so in the driver). The red color just denotes that it is indeed a hairline.

Todd, that was weird... we typed a reply at the same time :-)

Tood and Doug,

Thanks for the quick replies, well versed in CNC/CAM, just a new knowlegde base to grasp...but it keeps me young and interested in teaching to learn new things.

Todd:

Version 12 .cdr rose - all lines are hairlines. Change the color, fill, etc. to suit your requirements.
