After Jim brow-beating me over the old oak hunk I let my Uncle try on...

So you invite the guy over so he can try out turning...and you give him a knarly old hunk of oak to play with! LOL And he did a dynamite job on it, too!!! (I hear the vortex swirling...)...I thought I'd better try some myself. Lots of cracks but not too bad IMHO.:rolleyes: White Oak; 9 1/2" X 4"; sanded to 600 grit; Tung Oil and buffed.:)

So, did your uncle teach you how to turn the stuff?? :D
Seriously, this just shows that almost any piece of fire wood can make a beautiful turning, even with cracks!
I like the form, finisih and the wood (looks a little rustic).
