Low-time lurker, first time poster here. My bride and I have been wrestling with a laser purchase for several years and now I think we are closer to taking the plunge than ever.

We have an opportunity for our first larger scale job that would definately help pay for whatever laser we decide upon. The job would be for display boxes (think coins, pens, knives, watches, various trinkets, etc.)

Does anyone have experience cutting foam/wood/whatever for the exact shape of the item for nesting inside the boxes? Any suggestions for the source of the foam to cut? Are these types of boxes completely (wood and all) do-able on a laser?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on what you're doing I suppose, but Depron foam cuts beautifully and can be doubled up for greater thicknesses if needed.

Hey Mike,
What does the edge look like on the Depron foam? Does it curl up or is it a clean cut? What settings are you using for it?
Thanks and Happy New Year to all.
