All I can say is that Tage Frid really knows his stuff. There is a ton of good information in his books.

These are excellent books and you will refer to them often. I don't know anything about the DVD. Check out Amazon and Overstock for prices, too.

For someone just getting started, the Tage Frid books are invaluable. Not only does he do a good job teaching, he has a good sense of humor. Buy them, you'll enjoy them.

Thanks for the advice. I looked on amazon and they are quite a bit cheaper with free shipping. I will invest in them. Have a good new year!

Did you find the three volume set and dvd cheaper? All I could find on amazon was 57.00 for the three, and another 20 if you want the dvd. Pre-read editions surface occasionally, and offer good value, but for the new set FWW is offering what seems to be a good price.

You can get the books on e-bay.....You might have to buy one at a time. There are 3 to the set & I think they are on e-bay now......:)

I had a couple and keep them for several yrs going back to them during the project. Not that I learned all there was in these fantastic books,I sold them on that auction site, come close to getting my money back.Another woodworker has put them to use.Books can be recycle from one woodworker to another.

The books are worth the $$$, and the DVD is great.
I have the 3 volume hardbound set with the DVD. I can't encourage you enough to purchase them if you can.

The quality of the DVD is a little "amateurish", but then again, no one in it is a paid hollywood actor.;) The message and the content are more than conveyed.

They are great sources for the woodworker! I love them and use them all the time.

Tage Frid was a helluva a woodworker, and a helluva guy. The short answer is "yes".

Agree on Tage Frid's insights for woodworking. An alternative to paying Amazon ~$57 for the hardcover 3 volume set with DVD is a ~$20 paperback with 2 of the 3 volumes. This paperback book has joinery and shaping/veneering/finishing. The only volume you don't get with the paperback issue is furniture making. Here's the Amazon hyperlink for the paperback. http://www.amazon.com/Tage-Teaches-Woodworking-step-step/dp/1561580686/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199055681&sr=8-2

My set of Tage Frid's books will either be kept on by one of my 2 sons or sold......after I've left this world. Some books belong in my reference library...these are one of them.

Tage Frid books are great! I am agreed on the hand down value of these books, as mine were my Dad's. I just built a variation of his Dutch Pullout Table.

I found the 3 book set and DVD on Amazon and ordered it there for ~$57. FWW wanted about $10 for shipping during their "limited offer".

I'm glad to see that the books are so well endorsed.

They should be in most every pro and hobbyist workshop and or workbench.

These books are simply good reference books. Not something you would read before bedtime.
