Hello all,
Happy Holidays. I am looking for a set of plans for a miter saw station that is not a mobile type. I happened across one late the other night on the internet and I cannot remember where I saw it. It was made out of 3/4 plywood. Can anybody out there help?
Many thanks in advance
John

John,
There's a Miter Saw Stand in the October 2007 issue of Popular Woodworking. It's not fancy, but it might meet your needs. There's a bit of info here (http://www.popularwoodworking.com/oct07).
Have you checked the Wood Magazine Store (http://www.woodstore.net/)? They have a few to choose from, but I'm not sure if they're what you're looking for.
Finally, you've always got Norm's Miter Bench and Storage (http://www.newyankee.com/getproduct.php?0201) project.

Jim Becker posted his design on his web site here:

I did not build it, opting for a mobile station with fold down wings from a Woodsmith plan.

Thanks for posting that reference, George.
John, the design I used had some nice advantages for lumber storage since it has no legs to hinder that resource under it. It's a little more involved than some designs, but has been worth it for me since I did it. The one change I would make if I were building it today would be to put a couple drawers in the face for storage. This could be done without compromising strength with a little thought through the design.

Jim,
Is your DC opening directly under the CMS? If so, how effecient has that been?
Thanks,
Jim

Wade, I've built a couple of these for friends, great design with fold-in wings and nice stops. I recommend also buying the hardware kit with plans.
