I'm building the LV traditional workbench from european steamed beech, it looks simple enough but I've found it a challange and a great project to learn a bunch of new techniques. One thing I've done differently to the plans is to employ floating tenons using the Minimax slot mortiser instead of traditional m/t joinery and really enjoyed the learning process of setting up equipment for that type of joinery. The nice thing is that once you get the right setup by doing a practice joint its pretty much all down hill from there.

I've included a pic of the complete bench at the end so you can see what I'm aiming for. I'm also going to construct a removable cabinet and a set of drawers to sit under the bench top.

Thanks for looking,
Wayne

Wayne, congratulations on the new bench. It looks great. A good bench is still on my "need" list.

Really nice work Wayne, the bench you have your end piece has some massive legs. You truly build to last. I love the joinery on your new bench.
