Here are a couple of pics of tables I made that are great project. They really show what a good wood and some luck and great guidence can do.
This was a present for my lovely wife Nice turnings made with Flame Mahogany, sliding dovetails on the legs, Brass is from Ball and Ball Brass in Exton PA. Legs cut with band saw then filed, scraped and finished.

Bravo!!! That is great and even better as a present. Great job.
I understand the base it turned but I'm curious about the top. Is that also turned? Thanks.

Sorry to disapoint you but, I did the top with a jigged router on the out board of my PM 90. The PM 90 was not running but I turned by hand so the I could feel the router cut. To fast and it would rip. I used a White side 3/4" up cut spiral bit, which is the sharpest SOB bit on the market. I started on the outside and worked my way in. The rim was cut with a modified 3/16 quarter round, and a 3/4" half round. Bottom was a 1" quarter round.

This was a blast to make, and my wife loved it,,,,,,,I even got lucky.

Great job. Thanks for the pictures of the bottom as well as the top. I have a piece of wood that I want to make a top from. One of these days. Keep up the good work.

Nice table! I'm sure anyone would be proud to own that! The carved legs and turnings look awsome. I'd call that good utilization of a lathe... for semi- f**t work!
