air compressor noise

I have oil less Craftsman air compressor and it sounds like a jet crashing into a train. Dose anybody have this noise issue. Has anybody enclosed there compressor? Thanks for the help.

My compressor is in the DC closet for both noise control and to get it out of the shop for space considerations. When it kicks on, there is just a dull rumble. (Mine is an oiled type, but they are still not silent...)

Most oil-free compressors are major noise sources...you are not alone.

If you can run the air intake outside it will quiet down the compressor a lot, probably get the neighbors looking for a rope and tree though...:)
