Freud Marking Gauge

Has anyone tried the Freud rosewood marking/mortising gauge? I saw it on Amazon, at just $23.99, it looks like a good value, most of two-pin combo gauges I've seen run twice that.

I have one, but haven't used it very much, mainly because I prefer the Veritas wheel marking gauge to the pin-type. As a mortising gauge it is adequate, I guess, though a little sticky. I probably need to tune it up a little and use it more, so that it gets broken in. I'm happy with it, but it's not a great prize.
