What was your favorite piece in 2007 and why? You've all made some incredible pieces this year. Many of you have learned new techniques and applied them In some amazing ways. Most of you know I started turning about a year ago. I've become the turner I am in large part because of what I learned from so many of you. Thanks for the great lessons. Picture up everyone.:D (Cam at the shop. I'll post asap)

Bill I guess mine would have to be this one. It is amboyna burl with a lid and ebony finial. I learned a lot on this one. Just got another piece of amboyna to try it again.

Cool idea Bill, caused me to look back. Here is my favorite a couple of Goblets that I did for a friends wedding present.

This will be a fun thread Bill.

Bernie I love that piece!

I think one of my favorites, and the one that gets the most compliments, is the hat I turned from a gnarly piece of cottonwood. I used my old worn out leather miners cap for a model. I wear it all the time and ppl can't believe its made out of wood.

(Cottonwood and handmade Box Elder burl beads)

Well, I don't know what the favorite piece I turned was, probably because If I have favorites, I'll keep 'em and they won't sell.

But, if you ask me about the favorite piece someone else turned was this

76603

PARTIALLY because it's some great segmented turning, but more because It raised alot of money. Thank you, Malcom Tibbits.

Sorry all three of these were soooo special to me I could not pick. Each one had special meaning or turned out so great (I think) that I could not choose just one.

The favorite of mine is posted, but as Bill indicated, there are so many great pieces posted by others that have helped me out. http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=76201&d=1196400958

I've been at this stuff for eight months now, but work has been a realy hassle this year so I haven't been able to spend as much time as I would like (course I guess that goes for everybody!)

These are my favorites so far, the first two not for the form but for the surprise of what was in the wood. The third, just because it was my first hollow form and how proud I was when it didn't blow up:o.

2007 was a real turning learning experience for me. And yet as much as I learned, I realize I have just scratched the surface.

One of my favorites is this vase as it was a gift for some friends celebrating their 50th anniversary. Larry later died this fall.

The 2nd is the spokes for a boat's steering wheel. It was a real challenge!
