I'm not much of a turner but I needed a gift for a woodworker friend and decided to turn a handbell. The bell is glued up walnut from scraps I had in the shop, and the handle is a piece of ebony scrap. I also turned a walnut clapper for the bell and attached it with string.

Except for the glue lines in the walnut, I thought it came out pretty well.

I don't do a lot of turning - I mostly do flatwork - so I hope you guys don't mind me posting in this forum.

Mike that turned out beautiful. That is well done. I made a bunch of bells this year to. I really like making them.

That's an awsome looking bell. The handle is really good.

And we don't mind you posting in this forum as long as you don't show us a picture of a coffee table (but if it has turned legs... that's another story)

I really like the combination of dark toned woods you used together. Very pleasent form and a nice finish.

Great looking bell!!! Maybe we should all do some flatwork if it could make us all match grains like you!
