i just got a bunch of spalted pecan and i'm wondering what to use to bring out the figure. i tried behlens light wheat and it's a little too orange, and i tried general finishes rosewood but it's too dark. i guess i'm looking for something with a little red in it?

any suggestions?

thanks!

What about garnet shellac?

or shellac with some TransTint in it to suit.

i went ahead and used the behlens wheat on a box i made. it looks ok so far but i only have one coat of shellac on it. when i'm done i'll post some pics.

thanks,
